Hi
Firstly just to say thanks for signing up to the newsletter. We hope it helps you with plenty of information about what to expect when moving to Valencia. This week we are asking for some help please 🙏
We have decided to produce a book (Or booklet, depending) to give out to people when they arrive with the most important information that everyone should know when they are buying property in Valencia. We are going to get hard copies printed out to hand out as a type of coffee table book but also we will produce a PDF which we are going to give out for free also to everyone who helps
us to decide what to put into it.
The book will be composed of the most important articles we have written and produced so that you understand the process and what to expect from buying property in Valencia and moving here.
Now we sent this request out to our whatsapp broadcast list and got some great suggestions back including "Everything please!" which is not going to be practical of course but we would love you to make some suggestions.
Which are the articles that you found most useful from our blog?
(Just in case you can find the blog here)
We have shared all of the articles from the last seven years in a new page on the blog which you can find here to make it easier to find what you are looking for. Please click through and find your favourite articles and then mail me on information@valencia-property.com. The most popular articles asked for along with the best performing articles from our blog analytics will be included.
You may say that the Essential Reading Page is enough or you may think of articles that are not included there as your favourites. Please just send us your favourites whether it is one two or ten. We don't mind. The more the merrier to make our choice.

When I first moved to Valencia in 1998 we lived in a small rented house in L’Eliana. My wife had visited Valencia to look for a place while I prepared the van for the move and she was advised by everyone at the school she was going to be working at that L’Eliana was the place to be. She rented a small house with a patio at the back and essentially a fishpond for a pool and we moved in that August.

This Week's Featured Properties
Three Floor Cabanyal House
|
|
I spent most of my work day trying to get a cat out of the engine of my car. Surprising how long a cat can survive in an engine really, I spent nearly 48 hours pretending that the mewing sounds weren’t coming from my car. In the end it was the smell of burnt hair that forced me to take action.
I tell you all this by way of excuse for the pathetic nature of this description. Here it is, might as well get it done:-
An endangered species – a full 3 storey house in Cabanyal. We are constantly asked for properties similar to this, so many have already been snapped up and renovated for use as tourist or private residences.
This house has 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, a garage, a large terrace on the roof complete with pool/jacuzzi. The upper floor is currently fitted out as almost a separate studio apartment, but as a master bedroom with ensuite it would work really well.
It is located only 2 minutes walk from the tram stop, and about 5 minutes to the beach.
That’s it. Had I not spent 3 hours on my hands and knees on the street trying to catch a glimpse of kitten (really a lot more boring and legal than it sounds), I would have written something amazing, and you would be chuckling admiringly by now, and thinking ‘How does he get away with it’, while reaching for that phone to contact us about this amazing place that you simply have to have having read my description.
Instead, you’ll have to settle for knowing that the entirely ungrateful spitting and hissing ball of oil-stained fur survived and has been returned to its natural habitat (the empty lot near the kids school). Still a great house though.

A beautiful country house in the foothills of the Sierra Engarceran, a little to the north of Castellon. This is a bit outside our usual range, but we think this is worth it.
This property includes 10.000m2 of land, mainly low maintenance olive groves at the moment, but it could de devloped into something more productive if you were interested in being more self-sufficient. It is located 40km from Castellon city, and just 30 minutes from the beach - in fact you have a choice of amazing beaches within 30-40 minutes, including Benicassim, Oropesa and Alcossebre. And best of all, Castellon international airport is just 15 minutes away. Ok, its not Heathrow T2, but it
does have 5 flights a week to London for example.
The house is a perfect combination of comfortable and sustainable. Modern solar panels, a central heating system and a rainwater collection system for both household and irrigation use.
It comes almost as seen, including that Smeg fridge you've probably noticed! This would be a ready-to-go rural retreat. Perfect for year round living, or for use as a yoga retreat/workshop for example. Also there is great potential to further develop the house and outbuildings.
Give us a call if this house calls to you. Its a beautiful part of the world, and we're happy to have the excuse to visit!

Here's a really well built home on a family urbanisation in Naquera, set deep into its winding lanes this secluded plot provides plenty of privacy, peace and quiet with views and easy access to the sport facilities to the rear, perfect to let the kids go and run off some energy, while you enjoy the ridiculously cheap prices in the Bar Restaurante San Miguel.
This detached property is currently divided into two separate units, on the upper floor we find a good sized living room with fireplace, kitchen, four bedrooms, two bathrooms and terrace, and on the lower level a lovely large living space with another kitchen, two double bedrooms and bathroom, we see this kind of distribution often and it makes perfect sense when you have an extended family or would like to rent out part of your home for some extra income.
Looking outside over the low maintenance garden there is a very neat and tidy pool, bathroom, pump house and the traditional Paellero, basically where the men hang out and drink beer while they burn things.
So here we have it, an ideal investment for many years of family holidays and gatherings, it just needs you to start creating the memories.

Better Than Grimsby (Of Course)
|
|
-Where are you going on your summer holidays this year Roger?-
-Rented a 15m2 caravan down in Grimsby Bernard, me, the wife and the mother-in-law. You?-
-Oh just off to my 3-storey house on the Med Roger-
-You´re a b***tard Bernard-
Grimsby might be lovely, never been so can´t confirm either way. I can confirm that the Med is lovely, year-round lovely in fact. And 50 metres from your doorstep you have what is as close to a private beach as is possible without having you know, an actual private beach.
Bega de Mar is a 30-minute drive from Valencia, and a beautiful one at that, where you pass through the Albufera natural park. You might even get lucky and see a flock of flamingos.
The house itself as Bernard mentioned has 3 stories. A garage that has been converted into storage space at the front and a bedroom behind in the basement, living room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor and 2 more bedrooms upstairs. Also, there are two fantastic patios front and back for you to enjoy/avoid the sun depending on the time of day.
Dunes, a nice quiet beach, kite-surfing if that's your thing too.
Don't be a Roger, be a Bernard. Get in touch and we´ll arrange a visit.
